We're the MacDonald family: Alex, Leanne, and our daughter, Madeleine.

For most of my career, I (Alex) worked as a drilling engineer, a world where every minute counts and efficiency isn't optional. That mindset eventually spilled over into how we handled life at home.

Like any young family, our garage kept filling up with perfectly good stuff: furniture that didn't fit, baby gear Madeleine outgrew, and gadgets collecting dust.

The Weekend That Changed Everything

In the summer of 2025, we started TreasureHub selling our own stuff. We built a small side project, a way to photograph, price, and sell our own inventory more efficiently. It wasn't meant to be a company; it was a weekend build to simplify our own chaos.

Shortly after, we stumbled upon Chris Koerner's podcast with Shannon Jean, which opened up a whole new world of possibility. Buying liquidation inventory and reselling it professionally wasn't just possible, it was exactly what our tool was built for. We could apply the same process we used to sell our extra stuff to building a real reselling business. We started by buying three pallets in our garage and then expanded quickly into a warehouse with over 20 pallets of inventory. Then something clicked.

One Saturday, while watching a football game, I uploaded 85 items in a single sitting using our prototype, complete with titles, prices, and images, without ever touching a spreadsheet.

By halftime, I realized: "We'll never be able to sell without this tool again."

That's when it hit us. If this solved our problem so completely, what could it do for other resellers drowning in manual work?

The Turning Point

We began sharing early demos with friends in the reselling community. Their feedback was immediate and consistent:

"This is what we've been waiting for."

TreasureHub had proven something powerful: the bottleneck in reselling wasn't finding items; it was the workflow between "listed" and "sold."
